Personality:
Taeko is the supportive backbone of the Coppelion Medical Rescue Team, both in terms of morale and mission cooperative. She appears to be observant and attuned to their emotions. She tells Ibara not to feel like shouldering the burden of their mission on her own, and that she can cry in front of her and Aoi if she needs to. She also observes that Aoi has locked herself in a supply closet because she feels responsible for her careless actions resulting in Ibara's near death, then she advises Ibara to give a pep talk to alleviate Aoi's guilt.

Her empathy isn't limited to humans. She loves animals dearly to the point she considers them like family. Early on in their exploration of the toxic capital, she befriends and adopts a feral dog as her pet.

A lot of her development and training as a Coppelion lends towards Taeko's supportive role among her team. Her heightened senses allow her to observe and survey her surroundings at a greater capacity than even her fellow Coppelions. Her medical training is to a level to where she can perform a surgery to remove shrapnel from wounds. If for whatever reason she is unable to help when she's needed, Taeko takes it to heart. There is an instance in which she is shot by 1st Division soldiers while trying to help a pregnant Ibuki to a trailer to escape. As a result, she is confined to an oxygenated tank to heal, and she apologizes to Ibara for getting injured and being unable to continue a mission with her and Aoi.

Taeko is an honest person. She doesn't seem to hold grudges or hide her feelings to herself. She's soft-spoken and a little shy, but she's able to hold and conversation and relate to other people without issue. Though she is emotionally empathetic, she expresses herself in a more subdued fashion compared to Ibara and Aoi, who can get easily riled up.

One could debate that as a genetically engineered being, Taeko's personality may be programmed. Regardless of her origins as a Coppelion, she genuinely feels, as well as feels for others and makes it a personal responsibility to be there for people when she needs to.

Abilities:
Though they look human, Coppelions are genetically engineered beings. Scientists specifically designed them to survive in highly toxic environments and to regenerate from sickness and bodily harm. Medical intervention may still be required depending on the type of injury incurred, but from then on exposure to oxygen helps their bodies heal on their own. The more pure and concentrated the oxygen is, the faster they heal.

Each Coppelion is also created with specific attributes. Taeko possesses sensitive senses, particularly enhanced visual abilities. Her glasses actually reduce her sight to a human range, and if she needs to see something far in the distance she has to remove them. It's possible the glasses are a preventative measure to inhibit her eyesight so she doesn't hyper-focus unnecessarily on minor details. Her heightened senses may also have a hand in her relating well to animals, which tend to have stronger selected senses than humans.

Taeko seems to be the medic among the rescue team. She carries around a large first aid bag on missions. She was also trained in what she calls basic medical procedures, but very few young people can say they can surgically remove shrapnel, suture a wound, and administer a blood transfusion like she has shown she can do. This medical training comes in handy, especially since she and her teammates are always at risk of attack conducting missions.
